Jeffrey D. Powell, was
born in New York, New York on June 3, 1946 and became a member of the New York State
Bar in 1985. He is a graduate of University of Rochester (B.A.,1964), and Hofstra
University School of Law (J.D. 1984). Mr. Powell served as Notes and Comments
Editor, Hofstra Law Review. He is a member of the New York State and Suffolk Bar
Associations.
Mr. Powell has a diverse business and legal background. In 1970, he founded a
publishing company to manufacture and distribute a series of educational games
and instructional aids that he had developed while teaching science in the New
York City school system. In 1985, he became Corporate Counsel to a biotechnology
firm which was involved in the development of antiviral products, and in 1993 he
returned to private practice concentrating in commercial litigation and
business counseling.
